A PARTY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

From the delicious grilled sardines to the most varied moments of music and animation, the fun is for the whole family!

Portimão is celebrating once again its main gastronomic icon. Throughout the riverside area, between the museum and the old fish market, the atmosphere will be festive and ally, as tradition dictates, to the aroma of traditional sardines that promises to open the appetite of all visitors.

Elected best summer gastronomic event in Europe in 2022, the event takes place from August 1 to 6, 2023 counting, on August 1, with a historical recreation of the sardine discharge in the riverside area of the city.

HOW TO GET THERE

Those who travel by car can park in Largo do Dique (2 minutes on foot), in the area "Entre Pontes" (Largo de São José – 5 minutes on foot), in Horta do Palácio (6 minutes on foot), in Rua do Viveiro (10 minutes on foot), and in the covered parks in Alameda/Praça da República (10 minutes walk) and Largo 1.º de Maio (5 minutes walk).

Alternatively, you can also park for free at the Portimão Fair and Exhibition Park, which gives direct pedestrian access to the riverside area of Portimão and the Festival, on a route along the Arade River (approx. 10-15 minutes). Gates will close daily at 2 a.m.

The Vai e Vem – Urban Circuit of Portimão – is another of the possibilities to get to the Festival, especially for those who move between the Riverside Zone and Praia da Rocha or Alvor, through Line 1P (last departure from Largo do Dique at 23:30), which ensures the connection of Largo do Dique to Praia da Rocha, Praia do Vau, Praia do Alemão, Prainha and Alvor. ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The MAR ME QUER – Portimão Festival was created from the need to present, in the Algarve, an event capable of attracting thousands of people and satisfying the demand for a festival with a young, trendy, irreverent mood and with well-defined environmental causes.

Portimão is the ideal place to hold this event since it is one of the most visited cities in the Algarve, while being in the geographical proximity of Albufeira, Armação de Pêra, Lagos, Lagoa and Silves.

The MAR ME QUER – Portimão Festival also wants to be the motto for more and more people to contribute to the sustainability of the Planet.

For this reason, the decoration of the Festival will be created by plastic artists who use materials collected from the oceans and others who, through their art, amplify the need to act in the face of the climate emergency we are experiencing.

The Sea wants each of us and we will have to want each day a little more...
